Bardes du Khorasan : Abdollah Abdi Bezdi

Abdollah Abdi is a bard of Torbat-e Jam who accompanies his songs with the two-stringed lute “dotar”. He is also a sculptor and painter, and a founding member of the group Oshagh-e Sheikh-e Jam. Here he performs an excerpt of the suite Navai, attributed to the great poet Alisher Navai of the court of Emir Bayqara (15th century), in the intimacy of his home in Torbat-e Jam, Khorasan-e Razavi province of Iran. Recorded during A Musical Tour of Khorasan, a 2 weeks long guided tour around the northeast of Iran in June 2018, with Patrick Ringgenberg, Mathieu Clavel & Nadia Najmi.
