Jak spędzić weekend nad rzeką? Biwak i ognisko nad Pilicą | Spływ kajakowy | Outdoor & Bushcraft

Another sunny holiday weekend. I launched the canoe, dipped the paddles and took off. Pilica river had high water level that day. The river bank turned out to be rich in interesting fauna and flora. Fallen trees, reeds and river grasses. Dragonflies, butterflies, and sometimes ducks. And on the bank Polish cows, Scottish highlanders and long-horned mules like on African savannas. I have not had the opportunity to admire such diversity of animals for a long time. On the first day I swam about 22 kilometers of the 38 kilometers long route. It took me some time to find a perfect place for camping. The task was not easy, August is the last time for harvest, also combines and other machines were working intensively on nearby fields. Around 5 pm I managed to find a suitable place. I reached the shore. This time, instead of tarp, I took my favorite green tent from Decathlon, which serves me on canoeing trips for many years. I set off in search of dry firewood. The task turned out to be simple - not far from the camp I found a bush dried to the ground and a few birch logs cut down. Silky BigBoy saw had a chance to show its capabilities. I dug a hole for the fire with the help of a sturdy Russian sapper from 1944, which I bought years ago in the demob. I lit the fire using a flint and wood chips. It was time for the cooking part. This time I decided to cook a one pot dish. As ingredients I prepared: High quality juniper sausage, potato, onion, yellow zucchini, green peppers, tomatoes and pickled cucumbers from my Mom's pantry. The whole after preparation looked delicious and tasted even better. After dinner it was time for a well-deserved rest by the fire. I didn't have too much energy and strength to stare long at the sky and Perseids burning in earth's atmosphere. It was time for sleep. In the morning, after opening the tent lid, around 5 a.m. I had a chance to admire the morning mist rising over the river and fields. The sky was turning orange. I decided to continue the dream. I woke up a little before 10 o'clock. I would have lied longer, but the tent got unbearably warm from the sun. I had to move my lazy body. I started preparing the morning campfire. For breakfast I heated beans in tomato sauce and brewed tea with fresh nettles. The sun was starting to get more and more intense. So, with very slow movements, I packed up the camp. I launched kayak and paddled further in the direction of Przedbórz. This year's holiday Pilica canoeing trip came to an end. It was very successful weekend.
