In my travels around the Urals, I often show off our beautiful mountain towns, but Kopeysk is located right outside of Chelyabinsk, and its aesthetic is absolutely unique: the landscape here resembles a prairie, perfect for a Western. The Kopeysk urban district is vast, but half of it is taken up by picturesque wastelands, waste heaps, and small ponds. While this may be quite effective in some places, in reality, we're dealing with a major environmental disaster. The reason is the extensive coal mining in this area for almost the entire 20th century, which left numerous waste heaps, waste heaps, and open pits. Today, we'll explore the main landmarks of Kopeysk's former industrial zone, traveling from its southern part, where the Komsolskaya mine was located, to the northern waste heaps of the Krasnaya Gornyachka mine and mine No. 205.
