Swapping a Mini A-Series camshaft, without removing the engine!!

Follow me on Instagram:   / race_mini   ---------------------------------------------------- Today I finally got round to doing something that I've needed to do for ages - Swapping out the Avon Bar Phase 2 turbo cam for the MED RS cam. As I am going N/A for this year and having really not covered many miles at all last year with the turbo, I am satisfied that the cam followers are in a good enough condition to allow me to do a cam swap without dropping them out. But how....? This method works but is not without its dangers, if a magnet comes off the end of the skewer, or the follower drops off the magnet... its engine out time. Notes: Something I forgot to mention in the video is that you will also need to remove the Distributor drive shaft if you are running one. In-between shots I inspected the follower faces with my endoscope to be 100% sure they weren't pitted etc. ------- Indiana Jones clips used under "Fair Use" and "Satire" copyright use.
