According to this point of view, the true rupture occurred not with the modernist revolution of the Second Vatican Council, but with the traditionalist "schism," personified by the French bishop Marcel Lefebvre (1905-1991). Therefore, the formulation that there are "two churches" would be the product of "traditionalist rebellion," especially according to a famous priest from the Diocese of Osasco, São Paulo – for whom it is also a "Protestant divisionism." In the face of the brutal crisis of intelligence and faith that besets and consumes the most docile and promising spirits, it is necessary to point out the astonishing obviousness that a Catholic, admittedly shaped by Protestants, is automatically disqualified from judging and condemning the supposed Protestant infection of other Catholics.
