Welcome to Toys “R” Us at American Dream Meadowlands in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Toys “R” Us opened in 1948 & was the largest toy chain, it closed in 2018. This store opened in 2021 as the first standalone store in the United States to reopen after the company’s closure. Since then, many more standalone flagship stores have opened. In 2025, seasonal-holiday standalone pop-up shops opened by Go Calendars. There are about 350-400 Toys “R” Us stores in Macy’s. This Toys “R” Us appears to be very close to resembling the original Toys “R” Us, with it’s large toy selection, & toy shelves close to the ceiling with signage at the top, & being 2 levels with Star Logos everywhere in the store. This store also includes signage for the history of Geoffrey, an Ice Cream & Breakfast Cafe called Geoffrey’s Cafe, the 1980s Toys “R” Us jingle on the stairs to the 2nd level, a large slide, & mural type signage for the checkout & slide, having a New York City theme, since this mall is very close to New York. There is also Ice Cream Neon signs & a Geoffrey statue outside on the first level. The store also includes toy testing areas & interesting architecture by the entrances, & above the checkout on the second level, & an interesting lighting set up. #ToysRUs #Nostalgia
