SAUDI ARABIA'S FAIRYTALE VILLAGE: Beautiful Rijal Almaa in the hills of Abha and the 'Asir Region.

The beautiful village of Rijal Almaa is one of the most intriguing places we visited in Saudi Arabia! Have you heard of this fairytale village in the hills of Abha? It is sometimes known as the Gingerbread Village due to it's unique appearance... The village is more than 900 years old and has an interesting history. It's location was ideal linking people coming from Yemen and the Levant through to the Holy City of Makkah and Medina. And as a result, it became an important trade centre in the 'Asir Region. We had an amazing day making a road trip from the small town of Halaba towards Abha and then onwards to find the famed village of Rijal Almaa. And we met some great people on the way!
