"Altay, Xinjiang: Showing Me the Most Beautiful Colors on Earth" I spent two or three days in Altay, Xinjiang, exploring the exotic Jinshan Market. Huge oil paintings, carpets, murals, and exquisite copper coffee cups... made me feel as if I had stepped into a Central Asian world. What surprised me most was that my hotel only cost a little over NT$1,400 per night, and even included a lavish breakfast buffet. But what I will never forget is the Five-Colored Beach. As I slowly ascended in the helicopter and saw the world below, I was utterly awestruck. On one side was the Ertis River, China's only river flowing into the Arctic Ocean, with its lush green riverside oasis; on the other side were the Yardang landforms, sculpted by wind and river erosion over millions of years. Red, yellow, green, and purple rock layers shimmered in the setting sun, and the horizon seemed endless. At that moment, sitting in the helicopter watching the sunset slowly descend, I suddenly felt that being able to witness such scenery in one's lifetime is truly worthwhile.
