Hat Yai is famous for cheap clothing and Hat Yai Plaza Market is a great place to grab some bargains. The area is open from about 9:00am to 5:00pm daily, but many shops close in the afternoon. You’ll find Hat Yai Plaza Market near the clock tower just north of the city between Montri 1 and Montri 2 Roads. It’s about a 15 minute walk from the CBD. The Google Maps Coordinates for the market are: 7.011343, 100.468782 The shops at Hat Yai Plaza are mainly retailers, but some are wholesalers with a minimum of 3 or 6 items. It isn’t very touristy market but it’s a great place for cheap shopping or to buy gifts for friends! There are hundreds of shops under one roof and 3 floors of shops there. You’ll find all sorts of items at Hat Yai Plaza: men’s, women’s & children’s wear, denim & jeans, blouses, dresses & shirts, t-shirts, bras and underwear, baby clothes and everything else you might need for your infant (cots, prams & toys), traditional Thai and Asian design clothes, surf & skate wear, sportswear, lingerie, Disney and superheroes clothes, sweaters & jackets, shoes, jewelry, watches & clocks, travelware, electrical goods, souvenirs, CDs & DVDs, pharmacies, hair salons and fabrics and textiles. And if you’re hungry you’ll find Thai street food vendors and lots of restaurants in the area too. Hat Yai Plaza has it all! There’s also a huge food market open on the road behind Hat Yai Plaza in the afternoons.
