Matilde de Cunha, an 85-year-old woman, fell victim to a scam in the eastern zone of São Paulo and saw her son taken away by criminals. Alexandre Bauer, 55, has an intellectual disability, is deaf, and communicates through sign language. He had discovered the fraud suffered by his mother and was missing for seven days. The police were called and discovered that both were victims of scammers. The suspect, named Reinaldo, pretended to manage Matilde's finances, committing fraud in her name for seven years and accumulating losses of over R$ 200,000. The situation worsened when Alexandre was forcibly admitted to a drug rehabilitation clinic in Suzano (SP), under the false pretense of care. During the filming of this report, Matilde received a call revealing her son's location. The RECORD team accompanied the family to the clinic and witnessed the emotional reunion between Alexandre and Matilde. The woman's son confirmed that he was forcibly taken to the location by three people.
