Black Hills Central: July Evenings With 108
Filmed July 10 and 13-14, 2024. What would make a good July evening than a good train run? That is what the Black Hills Central does during a lot of the summer season. For these trains you see here, the locomotive is pulled by engine 108. 108 is a Baldwin 2-6-6-2 saddle tank engine built in 1926 for the lumber industry. Now it runs regular trains in the Black Hills, along with its sister 110. The film shows different shots of 108 taking the evening train from Hill City to Keystone and back with either sunny blue sky or somewhat cloudy, hazy weather. Enjoy the film.
