For sure Life is a Cabaret and the world is the stage CABARET – KABARET (in German) 1966–2026 A 60-year celebration featuring Thomas Dellert singing a compilation medley of songs from the musical. Cabaret is a 1972 American musical drama film directed and choreographed by Bob Fosse from a screenplay by Jay Presson Allen. It is based on the 1966 stage musical by Joe Masteroff (book) and the legendary duo Kander and Ebb (music and lyrics), which in turn was adapted from John Van Druten’s 1951 play I Am a Camera and Christopher Isherwood’s 1939 novel Goodbye to Berlin. Starring Liza Minnelli, Michael York, Helmut Griem, Marisa Berenson, and Joel Grey, the film won eight Academy Awards, including Best Director for Fosse, Best Actress for Minnelli, and Best Supporting Actor for Grey. Thomas has created , directed and performed ion many Cabarets in his life from Stockholm, Paris, London, New York , Venice and of cause Berlin as he has lived and made his home called UTOPIA in all these cities. The actor and singer Thomas Dellert also known as Mr “ Tommy Dollar “ has performed in a Paris Nigh Club Cabaret on stage together with Marisa Berenson who played one of the main characters in the movie Cabaret. He also met and danced with Liza Minelli. But he has also lived in the real Chelsea and worked in many different cabarets, burlesque shows and night club acts both London and in Berlin so when he sings theses songs its his “lifetime experience” not just theatre.
