Need for Speed 3: Hot Pursuit (PS1) - Race on Atlantica

Time for some nostalgia again. :) This is the first Need for Speed game that I ever played: The PlayStation 1 version of NFS 3. What an awesome game! These days I always play games on PC but when I compared the two versions of NFS 3 now I actually found the PS1 version to be better in many aspects. The handling of the cars is really nice for playing with a d-pad controller like the old PS1 gamepad. It is very precise. It is also quite impressive how they made drifting useful here in a few very tight corners (as you can see in the video) but in most of the corners you can do without it. This is how it should be. In many newer racing games there is either no drifting at all or you have to use it bloody everywhere if you want to be fast, which just makes it annoying very quickly. In this game they found a great solution. In this video you can see a race on my (and probably many people's) favorite track ever: Atlantica. It also has the best interactive music track of all time. 3:23 anyone? :D Here you can find the music without car sounds if you like:    • Need for Speed III Soundtrack - Rear Flutt...   The graphics also look really sharp for a game this old and the AI opponents are great as well. They are beatable but not too easy like the ones in the PC version. Overall it is just an amazing title that is still fun even 16 years after it was released.
