This is the fourth album from quiemira, and it belongs entirely to the red rock landscape of Sedona, Arizona. Seven pieces, each one drawn from a different layer of this ancient place. We begin at dawn, when the canyon walls first catch the light and the world has not yet remembered its noise. From there, the journey moves inward — through the sacred ground where the spirits of the land still walk, beneath a night sky older than memory, into the deep silence of the vortex, then out again through the gentle flow of the creek, the warm amber light of the juniper forest, and finally to dusk — the moment the red rock turns crimson, and stillness quietly becomes wonder. "Seven pieces of red earth, offered in stillness — from the first light of dawn to the last glow of dusk." The music moves across many worlds at once — acoustic ambient, Native American healing, medieval fantasy, lo-fi jazz, and contemporary classical — woven together the way the landscape itself holds ancient and present in the same breath. And underneath it all, the sounds of the land itself — desert wind, canyon echo, crackling fire, hawk cry, night crickets, soft water, distant bell.
