The mandible is the most commonly fractures bone when compared with other facial bones. Although the incidence of mandibular fractures has decreased these days, still oral and maxillofacial surgeons do deal with them when presented mostly due to road traffic accidents. When talking about mandibular fractures, it is important that the etiology of these fractures and ways of classifying it must be known. Ultimately, classification helps in planning the treatment plan for the patient, which is different for each patient.
