Amazônia, Gente e Justiça: Rawllyson Daniel fala sobre direitos indígenas, Libras e inclusão

This Friday, the 17th, at 6 PM, the program "Amazon, People and Justice" will host Rawllyson Daniel Rodrigues, an indigenous person from the Munduruku people, born in the Pataquá village in Amazonas. With a Bachelor's degree in Law from FIMCA and a postgraduate degree in Letters-Libras and Portuguese Language from UNICV, Rawllyson works as a Sign Language Translator and Interpreter at the Federal University of Rondônia (UNIR), where he is also pursuing a Master's degree in the Postgraduate Program in Human Rights and Justice Development (DHJUS). During the interview, he will share his academic and professional journey, marked by the articulation between traditional indigenous knowledge, Law, and the Humanities. His work focuses on defending the rights of indigenous peoples, linguistic inclusion, accessible education for people with disabilities (PWDs), and valuing education professionals who work in indigenous villages and communities. Rawllyson, an atypical father, also uses his personal experience to strengthen inclusive practices and contribute to debates on accessibility, diversity, and social justice. He participates in networks focused on linguistic rights, intercultural education, and public accessibility policies, seeking to transform academic research into an instrument of resistance and promotion of citizenship. Among the topics he develops in his studies are the professional work of sign language interpreters, the application of the Maria da Penha Law in indigenous contexts, and the challenges faced by autistic people living in indigenous communities. The interview promises an enriching dialogue about inclusion, human rights, interculturality, and the challenges faced by indigenous peoples in building a more just and accessible society.
