5 Signs Of Fake Wealth (Don’t Fall For It)
Looking wealthy and building wealth are not the same thing. Most people know that. Far fewer actually act like it. In this video, Ari walks through five signs that what someone appears to have and what they are actually building toward are two very different things. Not to judge how people spend their money, but to make clear what signals are worth paying attention to and which ones are not worth losing sleep over. The first is visible luxury for the sake of it. Nearly half of global luxury purchases come from middle-income buyers. The people who appear the most wealthy are often the ones furthest from actually being so. Getting rich is rarely exciting to watch. It looks like maxing out a brokerage account and passing on the branded accessories. The second is not being able to talk about investments. Someone who leads with what they own and deflects when the conversation turns to how they built it is usually telling you something without meaning to. The third is staying quiet to avoid looking uninformed. Ari is honest here about his own experience. Not asking questions to protect an image costs more over time than any embarrassment in the moment. The people who build real financial security are the ones who ask early and often. The fourth is the phrase passive income. Real estate is not passive. Managing a property manager is still managing. The stock market comes close, but only if someone can sit with the volatility. Any income that sounds effortless usually has effort hiding behind it. The fifth is net worth as the primary measure of retirement readiness. A large home that will never be sold, a retirement account that cannot be accessed without penalties for years, and a small taxable account to bridge the gap is not a retirement plan. It is a high net worth with limited flexibility, and flexibility is what actually allows someone to retire on their own terms. Ready to retire early?
