Los 10 PROYECTOS NAVALES más IMPORTANTES de Sudamérica
South American Naval Projects, Shipbuilding Industry, Frigates, Submarines, Shipyards, Naval Power, SIMA Peru, COTECMAR, ASMAR, and Brazil: We analyze the 10 most important naval construction projects in the region. South America no longer only buys ships abroad. Brazil, Peru, Colombia, Chile, and Argentina have developed or are developing submarines, frigates, corvettes, icebreakers, amphibious assault ships, and ocean patrol vessels built in shipyards within the region itself. In this video, we analyze the 10 most IMPORTANT naval projects in South America, considering not only combat power but also industrial complexity, technology, tonnage, local construction, technology transfer, program maturity, and strategic value for each country. From Brazil's PROSUB submarine program and the new Tamandaré-class frigates, to Peru's future HDF-3600 frigate, Colombia's PES, the Chilean icebreaker Almirante Viel, and the giant multipurpose vessels BAP Pisco and BAP Paita. We also explore some of the historical milestones that helped build the region's current naval-industrial base, such as the Lupo-class frigates built by SIMA Peru, Argentina's MEKO 140 Espora-class corvettes, and Brazil's Barroso V34. ⚓ THE COMPLETE RANKING South American OPVs — OPV-80 and OPV-93 MEKO 140 Espora-class and Barroso V34 corvettes Lupo-class frigates built by SIMA Peru LPD-93 Magallanes — Chile BAP Pisco and BAP Paita — Peru AGB-46 Almirante Óscar Viel icebreaker — Chile PES/SIGMA 10514 frigate — Colombia HDF-3600 frigate — Peru Tamandaré-class frigates — Brazil Riachuelo-class/PROSUB submarines — Brazil 🇧🇷 BRAZIL Brazil maintains the largest naval and military industrial base in South America. The PROSUB program, developed in Itaguaí in conjunction with Naval Group, enabled the construction of the Riachuelo-class submarines and progress toward the future Álvaro Alberto nuclear-powered submarine. On the surface, the new Tamandaré-class frigates represent the most advanced escort program in the region, with participation from TKMS, Embraer, and Águas Azuis, as well as systems such as Sea Ceptor CAMM, MANSUP, Saab 9LV, and next-generation sensors. 🇵🇪 PERU Peru has become one of the most interesting cases in the South American naval industry. Decades ago, SIMA Peru built the Lupo-class/Carvajal-class frigates under license, demonstrating that the country could participate in the construction of combat escorts. Later came the multipurpose ships BAP Pisco and BAP Paita, two large amphibious and logistics platforms built by SIMA. Now Peru is moving toward a new generation with the future HDF-3600 frigate, developed in conjunction with HD Hyundai Heavy Industries. The proposal presented envisions a modern frigate of approximately 3,600 tons, destined to become one of the most ambitious naval projects in the region. 🇨🇴 COLOMBIA Colombia is moving forward with COTECMAR, one of the most important shipyards in Latin America. After building ocean patrol vessels like the OPV-80 and developing the OPV-93, Colombia has taken the leap toward the future Strategic Surface Platform (PES), based on the Damen SIGMA 10514 design. The future Colombian frigate represents COTECMAR's transition from ocean patrol vessels to the construction of a truly modern combat escort. 🇨🇱 CHILE Chile is featured with two strategic projects being built by ASMAR. The first is the AGB-46 Almirante Óscar Viel icebreaker, one of the most complex naval constructions undertaken in South America and a fundamental platform for Chile's presence in Antarctica. The second is the future LPD-93 Magallanes, the first unit of the Escotillón IV project, designed to modernize the Chilean Navy's amphibious, logistical, and power projection capabilities. 🇦🇷 ARGENTINA Argentina appears with the historic MEKO 140 / Espora Class, a series of six corvettes built under license at the Río Santiago Shipyards. Although they now belong to an older generation, they represent one of the largest serial production programs for combat escorts developed in South America. This video doesn't simply seek to answer which country has "the best ship." The question is much more important: Which countries are truly building a naval industry capable of designing, integrating, maintaining, and producing their own military platforms? Because buying a modern ship can modernize a fleet. But building one on your own soil can forever transform a country's industry, technology, and strategic future. Leave your ranking in the comments: Which project should be number one? Which country is doing the best work to develop its own naval power in South America? Welcome to Factor Bélico. Over and out. ⚓ #NavalIndustry #NavalPower #SouthAmerica #FactorBélico #Defense
