Atlantis Extrait by French Avenue: Honest Review - Room 1015 Wavechild Clone at Burlington!

Yo, I picked up this French Avenue Atlantis Extrait at Burlington for like $35, and I'm stoked because I've tried a couple others from their lineup—Aether Extrait is killer as a Greenly clone, but Chaos was a miss with that cough-syrupy leathery cherry vibe. This one's supposedly inspired by Wavechild (that niche Room 1015 tropical freshie), so I had high hopes. Notes hit with a citrus bomb upfront: orange, mandarin, lemon, then watermelon and coconut in the middle, finishing with cacao, amberwood, and ambergris for some depth. It's not straight-up marine, more like tropical beachy with a salty edge. Unboxing was cool—the crystal bottle with that blue velvety interior looks premium, same style as their other ones. Right off the bat on paper and skin, it's a juicy explosion—super tropical citrus mixed with watermelon that's got this Jolly Rancher candy sweetness, not overly cloying. Coconut's there but subtle, not screaming piña colada; it's more blended in for creaminess. There's a salty, airy vibe poking through (probably the ambergris) that keeps it from going too feminine and gives it a slight marine-adjacent freshness without being full-on ocean. On skin, it amps up the juiciness even more, feeling airy and aquatic while staying that bright citrus-melon combo. I was like, holy crap, this screams summer tiki bar or beach day—perfect for heat. It's an Extrait de Parfum, so heads up: potent stuff, might stain clothes, better on pulse points. I wore this for a few days as it got warmer, and man, it's a total banger. Opens lovely like I said, but the whole progression is beautiful—citrus fades quick (as citrus does), but that watermelon-coconut duo hangs around forever with the ambergris adding salty freshness and cacao/amberwood giving a masculine backbone from the start (just buried under the fruit at first). Performance is nuts: beast mode projection for 4-5 hours, room-filling if you overspray, then settles but still lasts 10+ hours easy. I even put three sprays on my kid before school/tennis—he was sweating outside, and 8 hours later my wife said he still smelled fresh and fruity from across the car. It survives heat and activity like a champ, staying fruity without turning sour. Overall, this is one of my new summer favorites—fruity, sweet, tropical, super fresh, and performs like crazy for the price. If you're into watermelon-forward scents with a beachy twist, or want something that fills the room without being heavy, grab it if you see it cheap at discounters. Way better than I expected, especially compared to the rest of their line. Loving it, will probably force myself to rotate it so I don't burn through the bottle too fast. Questions?
