The Perfect PM Oral Care Routine (Dentist Approved)

As a dentist, my nighttime oral hygiene routine is non-negotiable — because your teeth are actually more vulnerable while you sleep. In this video, I’m sharing my complete PM oral care routine that helps prevent cavities, reduce bad breath, protect enamel, and keep your mouth healthy overnight. If you’ve ever wondered: • Should you floss before or after brushing? • Do dentists use mouthwash? • Is tongue scraping necessary? • How to manage dry mouth at night? • Why you shouldn’t eat after brushing? — I’m answering it all in this video. 🦷 My Night Routine Steps: 1️⃣ Flossing first 2️⃣ Two minutes of gentle brushing 3️⃣ Tongue scraping 4️⃣ Mouthwash (optional) 5️⃣ Dry mouth support (Xylimelts) 6️⃣ Mouth taping for nasal breathing 7️⃣ No food after brushing Why Night Oral Care Matters Saliva flow naturally decreases while you sleep. Since saliva is your mouth’s natural defense system, bacteria get a better chance to cause cavities, plaque buildup, and bad breath overnight. That’s why your PM routine is just as important — if not more — than your morning routine. ⚠️ Disclaimer: This is my personal routine as a dentist. Individual needs may vary, so always consult your dentist before adding new products or techniques to your oral care routine.
