In this video you get a full insight into my Polo Cup race weekend. Friday was honestly a complete disaster for me. In practice I drove what was probably the worst lap of my life. You’ll see exactly why that happened and what went wrong in the video. On Saturday we had 25 minutes of qualifying and 25 minutes of racing. Both were a massive challenge for me, as it was my first time on proper wet tyres and also my first real experience in proper race conditions in the rain. At times, visibility was extremely low. In the first qualifying session I also had a off track situation. On Sunday we had the second qualifying session and the second race. The qualifying was in mixed conditions – something I absolutely hate. I’m just glad I got through both qualifying and the race without any damage. In the end, I finished P13. Still, I learned an incredible amount and gained a lot of experience, especially in difficult wet conditions and real race situations. It’s honestly crazy how different this is compared to RCN racing. Even a 3-h8our RCN race is not really comparable. The intensity, the format and the overall racing is on a completely different level. If you are looking for an entry-level series to get into real motorsport, I can definitely recommend the Polo Cup. It was an amazing experience, and it’s honestly insane how many strong drivers compete there. But you also have to keep in mind that many of them have been in karting since they were kids. I only started getting into motorsport when I was 18 years old, so I’m still very early in my journey. Der Freitag war für mich leider eine absolute Vollkatastrophe. Im Training bin ich vermutlich die schlimmste Runde meines Lebens gefahren. Warum das so war und was genau passiert ist, seht ihr natürlich im Video. Am Samstag standen dann 25 Minuten Qualifying und 25 Minuten Rennen auf dem Programm. Beides war für mich eine riesige Herausforderung, da ich zum ersten Mal mit richtigen Regenreifen unterwegs war und generell zum ersten Mal so richtig unter Rennbedingungen im Regen gefahren bin. Teilweise konnte man unglaublich wenig sehen. Im ersten Qualifying hatte ich außerdem Einen Ausflug ins Kiesbeet. Am Sonntag folgten dann das zweite Qualifying und das zweite Rennen. Das Qualifying fand unter Mixed Conditions statt – etwas, das ich überhaupt nicht mag. Umso glücklicher bin ich, dass ich sowohl das Qualifying als auch das Rennen ohne Schäden überstanden habe. Am Ende wurde es leider nur Platz 13. Trotzdem habe ich an diesem Wochenende unglaublich viel gelernt und jede Menge Erfahrung gesammelt – besonders durch die schwierigen Bedingungen im Regen und den echten Rennbetrieb. Es ist wirklich verrückt, wie anders ein solches Rennen im Vergleich zur RCN ist. Selbst ein RCN-3-Stunden-Rennen ist damit kaum vergleichbar. Der gesamte Ablauf, die Intensität und das Racing sind einfach etwas ganz Besonderes. Wenn du nach einer Einstiegsserie suchst, kann ich dir den Polo Cup definitiv empfehlen. Es war eine unglaubliche Erfahrung, und es ist ehrlich gesagt verrückt, wie viele starke Fahrer dort unterwegs sind. Man muss aber auch bedenken, dass viele von ihnen schon seit ihrer Kindheit Kart fahren. Ich selbst habe erst mit 18 Jahren angefangen, mich für den Motorsport zu interessieren, also bin ich noch ganz am Anfang meiner Reise.
