Japan's Admiral Knew the Battle Was Lost Before It Started. Tokyo Made Him Fight Anyway
Vice Admiral Seiichi Ito saw the problem before Yamato left Japan. Okinawa was 350 miles away. The ship had no air cover, no return fuel plan, and no realistic path through American carrier aircraft. Tokyo wanted the Navy to prove it still mattered after Leyte Gulf and years of carrier defeats. Ito objected, then obeyed when honor replaced strategy in the briefing room. Yamato sailed on April 6, 1945, was found by American submarines and aircraft, and was destroyed the next day. The mission killed thousands and proved that Japan's greatest battleship belonged to an old war from the start. If You Like this Video please Subscribe To our Channel.
