Mzee Boniface Byanyima, served Uganda as a teacher, a member of parliament for the Democratic Party (DP) and as the longest-serving DP National Chairperson. He is considered by many an icon who constantly nurtured young politicians across party lines and who also pushed for Uganda to adopt multiparty representation. Byanyima died on May 16th at age 97.
