Day 33 of my solo trip through Europe. I took a four-hour bus ride from Pest, the capital of Slovakia, across the border to my next destination: Budapest, Hungary. This is a super popular city on Instagram, touted as having a high cost-performance ratio! That day, I walked from Pest to Buda, finally seeing the Danube River that cuts the city in two. Budapest is a very special city. Located in Central Europe, Hungary, Budapest is the capital of the country. Perfectly situated at a major European transportation hub, it's easily accessible from Vienna, Prague, and even Slovakia, making it like "one of the crossroads of Central Europe."
