The Indian Navy is set to expand its strength. On June 21st, three new indigenous warships—INS Dunagiri, INS Agray, and INS Sanshodhan—will join the naval fleet. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to attend the ceremony in Kolkata. INS Dunagiri is a stealth guided missile frigate built under Project 17A, equipped with the BrahMos missile. INS Agray is an anti-submarine warfare warship, and INS Sanshodhan is a survey vessel. All three warships were built entirely in India. With this, India has set a new record in defense production. The country's total defense production in the financial year 2025-26 has surpassed ₹1.78 lakh crore, a 15.6 percent increase over the previous year. Private sector participation in this effort has been 24 percent. Furthermore, India's defense exports have also increased by 62 percent to ₹38,424 crore.
