Staatsorchester Stuttgart - Das Kontrafagott - Musiker und ihre Instrumente
Few know the lowest-pitched instrument of the woodwind section better than our colleague Gudrun Müller, who was kind enough to introduce us to the contrabassoon in all its eerily grotesque sonic beauty. How is a sound produced on this double-reed instrument, and how is this "double reed" actually made? How long is this behemoth of wooden coils, and how low can it go? Questions that Gudrun Müller answered charmingly and clearly—many thanks for that!
