(#81) Terrace Transformations & Tidy Ups
The work moves to the outside for work that is essential for the overall plans. First, a tidy up is required outside to prepare for a big machine being on site. Then the stone and earth shifting can start. First, the stones around the house from the window work need to be moved. Then the top of the main stone pile is lowered. Next, the big work on the lower level can start. Rubble is shifted, remaining walls removed and lots of earth is transferred. All of which is preparation for future structure work in front of the house. There were a few frustrations in the week and future plans need adjusting as a result. - - - - chapters - - - - 00:00 intro 00:35 day 1 start 02:17 tidy up 1 04:41 day 2 06:51 post break 09:16 update 10:38 back & side 13:17 front 15:25 lower level 17:48 soil shift 20:38 final shift 28:14 back & up 21:53 summary - - - - about my channel and its videos - - - - My channel is about the renovation and restoration of an old stone house on a hill in Catalunya (North East of Spain). The house is near the Costa Brava and has magnificent views of the forest around it and the Mediterranean Sea. The house has many beautiful old features, including its stone walls, vaulted ceilings, ancient terracotta tiles and many quirky parts added over the centuries. At the moment, I am working on the house on my own as I try to turn it into a dream home in harmony with the nature and culture that surrounds it. The house is not in France or Italy and is not a Chateau or Cabin, but I watch and am inspired by channels that are. Especially Martijn Doolaard and Dan Preston's Escape to Rural France. I love Martijn's style, philosophy and cinematography and Dan's energy, humour and ambition. I'm trying to include some of these attributes in my videos.
