Joanna Stanecka, Piosenki Marlene Dietrich i Agnieszki Osieckiej: oklaski i ukłony

7/7/26 Agnieszka Osiecka Atelier Theatre in Sopot This concert is the prologue to the first edition of the "Tri-City of Many Cultures – Past and Present" festival. Today, Tri-City is a modern metropolis where contemporary culture harmoniously intertwines with its historical heritage, and its residents – hailing from various parts of Poland and the world – create a vibrant, diverse cultural mosaic. Our annual Meetings are intended to become a platform for presenting the most valuable and interesting artistic projects representing the diverse cultures developing in the Tri-City region. It is not without reason that the "Alchemy of Love" concert became the festival's prologue. This is a meeting of two extraordinary personalities who have left a lasting mark on the history of European song – Marlene Dietrich and Agnieszka Osiecka. Two strong women, two worlds, two languages of emotion – and between them, love in all its complexity. The former – a vocalist and actress, a master of interpretation – was an artist conscious of her power. She co-created artistic visions, influenced directors and composers, creating works of exceptional intensity. In the post-war period, she became a symbol of courage and independence, openly opposing Nazism and supporting her persecuted artist friends. Her stage image combined cool detachment with passion, irony with tenderness. The latter – an intellectual lady of the communist era – enchanted with words, attentiveness, and keen observation of the world. A poet of everyday life, she wrote some of the most beautiful and popular Polish songs of the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s, as well as a director and screenwriter. Her work revealed the emotional truth about love: longing, greedy, and vulnerable. The juxtaposition of these two figures became the starting point for creating a musical story about two ways of experiencing feelings. The clash of these two aesthetics and temperaments creates an intriguing, contrasting musical concoction – a story about female strength, sensitivity, and the courage to love.
