Por Que Abandonei o Projeto do Meu Barco Novo?

This was the last trip I made to retrieve that boat. An expedition from Manaus to Novo Airão along the Rio Negro to pick up a hull purchased from an artisanal shipyard. Along the way, we passed the Manaus-Iranduba bridge, the Anavilhanas archipelago, and Açutuba beach, and sailed at night under the full moon. But it was also the trip that made me give up on the project: I bought a 10m x 3m hull and received a 9m x 2.60m one, poorly finished and practically unfinished—a project abandoned due to the builder's dishonesty, something common in the naval industry here in Amazonas. Even so, we brought the hull back to Manaus in a saga of more than 20 hours, navigating rough seas with an improvised outboard motor on the stern.
