Years of trapped moisture had taken their toll, with rust holes found in the C pillar and throughout the rear windscreen cowl. The holes in the C pillar are cleaned up, rust treated and primed, with welded steel patches and then primer applied. I cut out the rear cowl panel, treat all joining surfaces and apply a weld through primer before installing the new rare spares rear windscreen cowl panel and weld it in place. Following which I complete an initial grind down of my welds and paint a coat of zinc based primer to stop any surface rust forming. This brings the VL one step closer to being rust free and ready for body work and the future painting process. 👍
