Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Waitaha | Te Reo Matatini me te Pāngarau

Te Reo Matatini me te Pāngarau is a literacy and numeracy kaupapa funded by Te Pūtea Whakatupu Trust and delivered by one of our strategic partners, Te Pūtahitanga o Te Waipounamu. In this video we share the mahi of Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Waitaha, and their 'Kāinga Ora' kaupapa which embodies four key areas: Ahu Moni (financial literacy) Reo Ohooho (vocabulary acquisition) Ruia te kano (introducing new learners to te reo) Te Ataarangi (supporting parents with te reo) Through both of these kaupapa, kaiako have noticed a marked shift in their students' overall attitude towards reading and expanded vocabulary. This kaupapa encourages whānau Māori to engage with their tamariki and mokopuna to promote literacy and numeracy development and works towards achieving our overall whāinga (goal) of 'ngā uri whakatupu - futureproofing the next generation'.
