In this episode, we take a marketplace find, an Epiphone Special, through a full setup and see what this guitar actually needs to become playable. Along the way we follow the TRAPIN setup process (Tune, Relief, Action, Pickup Height, Intonation, Nut), check neck relief, adjust action, evaluate the nut after moving from 9s to D’Addario 10–46 strings, lubricate contact points, secure a loose strap button, inspect the frets, and ultimately move into fret leveling, crowning, polishing, fret end work, and final cleanup.
