Plastic seriously harms human health and that of ecosystems. And yet its production continues to increase and the vast majority of plastic products used are unnecessary and/or single-use. The only solution? Turn off the tap at source by drastically reducing the production, consumption and toxicity of plastic to safeguard human health and that of all the Living. 📣 In November, the issue of plastic pollution is at the heart of the international and European political agenda with two major events in the fight against plastic: INC-3, the third round of UN negotiations for a global treaty against plastic pollution, and the revision of the PPWR law on packaging at the European Parliament. 🌊 The latest film by Julie Gautier, produced by Imagine 2050, BAKELITE launches the #SickOfPlastic campaign, built with the two NGOs Surfrider Foundation and Break Free from Plastic, and supported by Resilient Foundation. An underwater ballet filmed in the Mediterranean Sea and set to Rone's music 'Brest', the film depicts, through dance, the encounter and confrontation between a giant made of plastic, manufactured by the artist Hortense le Calvez, and a Naiad, the spirit of the ocean, played by Julie Gautier. Son petit nom, c’est #SickOfPlastic. Le plastique nuit gravement à la santé humaine et à celle des écosystèmes. Et pourtant, sa production ne cesse d’augmenter et la grande majorité des produits en plastique utilisés sont inutiles et/ou à usage unique. La seule solution ? Couper le robinet à la source en réduisant drastiquement la production, la consommation et la toxicité du plastique pour préserver la santé humaine et celle de l’ensemble du Vivant. 📣 Au mois de novembre, la question de la pollution plastique est au cœur de l’agenda politique international et européen avec deux évènements majeurs de lutte contre le plastique : l'INC-3, troisième volet de négociations de l'ONU pour un traité mondial contre la pollution plastique, et la révision de la loi PPWR sur les emballages. 🌊 Dernier film de Julie Gautier, produit par Imagine 2050, BAKELITE lance la campagne #SickOfPlastic, construite avec les deux ONGs Surfrider Foundation, Break Free from Plastic et avec Resilient Foundation. Ballet sous-marin tourné en mer Méditerranée et porté par la musique ‘Brest’ de Rone, le film met en scène, à travers une danse, la rencontre et la confrontation entre un géant de plastique bakélite, confectionné par l’artiste plasticienne Hortense le Calvez, et une Naïade, esprit de l’océan joué par Julie Gautier.
