MAJOR Land Clearing + Planting Food Forest on Abandoned Italian Homestead

This week on our off-grid homestead in rural Italy, we’re tackling major land clearing, finishing a new path, transplanting old grape vines, collecting biomass for compost and planting the next pieces of our future food forest. Our abandoned land is slowly becoming a productive, self-sufficient homestead — but every job seems to turn into a bigger one than expected. We chip branches to mulch the path, move the tractor after avoiding it for months, dig out established grape vines, make grape cuttings, collect biomass from the neighbour’s olive grove for compost and replace a dead almond tree with a new plum tree. This episode is a full week of real homestead work: land clearing, path building, planting, composting, mulching, tree planting and the trial-and-error process of restoring neglected land into a thriving off-grid home.
