Un día en La Carpio: la realidad detrás de los prejuicios

La Carpio often appears in the news associated with problems, violence, or poverty. But behind these prejudices lie thousands of stories of work, effort, and hope. On this journey, we met Joshuar, a psychology student; Vanessa, who is studying English to build a better future for her children; and Yolanda, who arrived from Nicaragua 29 years ago seeking opportunities for her family. We also visited the Renuevos Foundation, a space that provides support to children, teenagers, and young mothers, demonstrating how a community can be transformed when there are opportunities, support, and committed people. During our visit, we also learned about some of the challenges La Carpio faces, such as access to drinking water and the limitations of the education system. But above all, we discovered a community full of people who fight every day to get ahead.
