Kashirama surakshakaya Namaha || Kashiram Shimpi || Shantaram Ranganath Mirane

One of the devotees who initially recognised the divinity of Sai Baba was Kashiram Shimpi Mirane. He was very dear to Baba right from Baba's advent in Shirdi. We have used the photo of his Son Bala Kashiram Shimpi Mirane for representing the Mirane family) Kashiram served Sai Baba in the best possible manner, which is truly with ‘tana, mana and dhana’. Sai Baba protects the devotees who completely surrender themselves to Him. Sai Baba removes the Ego of the devotees so that the spiritual progress is easy and He also protects them from physical harm too. Thus, it so happened in the case of Kashiram he had the habit of giving dakshina to Sai Baba and Sai Baba used to buy, tobacco and fuel for dhuni with that money, Kashiram devoloped ego thinking that he was taking care of Sai Baba. Keeping in view that Ego was a big impediment in the spiritual progress of a devotee, Sai Baba removed the impediment. Sai Baba protected Kashiram when he was attacked by some Bandits. These Leelas are described in detail in Shri Sai Satcharitra. Kashiram passed away on (Ekadashi) the 11th day of ‘Chaitra Shudha, Shake’ 1830 (1908).
