SONIA BENASSI is a medium with the extraordinary gift of speaking with souls who have left their bodies on this planet and live in a dimension "without history," as Franco Battiato told me when Sonia introduced me to him after the interview. She contacted me a year ago, but I'm reluctant to enter these worlds. I've always declined invitations to do regressions to understand who I would have been in past lives. I know what I have to do in this one, and I feared the distractions of searching into the distant past. Then some people spoke highly of Sonia, so I decided to visit her. The camera was on from the moment I arrived, also because I knew full well that, in addition to some dogs, she and her husband Massimo had a little pig, and I was curious to see her. She behaves like a puppy and wags her tail when she's happy. We entered the house, and Sonia took me downstairs to show me the place where people who come to visit her meet those who arrive from "elsewhere." It can take more than two years to get an appointment with her, a testament to her value. She calls these conversations: channelings. In the long interview I conducted with her, I tried to get answers to all my questions and understand the mystery of what she can do. She also told me she had contact with David Bowie, of whom Massimo is a huge fan, so much so that he then translated Bowie's words into English to make a song that he then played for me. The similarity to the songs from the Thin White Duke's latest production is incredible. Nor should it be surprising that Bowie communicated in Italian: in the other dimension, the parameters we have don't exist: languages, time, emotions... only love. After the interview, we had lunch, then Sonia offered to let me experience what she had told me. We went downstairs, but I didn't bring a camera. I only recorded the audio. When she connects with the Soul that has come, she quickly writes down what it communicates to her. The doubt I'd expressed in the interview—that she could telepathically glean information from the people sitting across from her—was immediately dispelled. My mother told me she was with her parents. I struggled to remember my grandparents' names, and Sonia handed me the sheet of paper where she'd already written them: Ida and Primo. Every Soul who came to speak with me also told me things I didn't even remember. For example, at a certain point, Sonia raised her head and asked me: "Did you know Franco Califano?" Yes, but not as a friend. Why? "Because he's here and he thanks you because you were the only one..." True, I was the only one to interview him when he was under house arrest and abandoned by everyone. "Exactly, and for that he thanks you." Finally, I asked to say hello to Franco Battiato. Sonia told me he had arrived and began writing quickly, silently. For a long time. Then he read me a long message that only Franco could have conceived of like this. I'll perhaps share the text of what Battiato told me in the future. Ultimately, I realized that if I had done this experiment before the interview, I would have documented so many more questions. But perhaps it's better this way. This interview will already generate extremely conflicting opinions. This is why Sonia asked me to disable the comments under the video. Also because sometimes you need to listen in silence, without the frenzy of expressing your thoughts. LISTENING is the magic we must learn to begin opening ourselves to other worlds.
