La Comunidad de la Ciudad y Tierra de Segovia y sus Sexmos | Capítulo 1: La Historia

The "Communities of Town and Land" were born almost ten centuries ago, in the High Middle Ages. The Kings of Castile rewarded towns and cities with territories for their exploits in the Reconquest of Al-Andalus. This was the administrative organization of what was known as "Castilian Extremadura" in the 11th and 12th centuries, which encompassed the territories between the Duero and Tagus rivers. One of these universities of the land was the Community of Town and Land of Segovia.
