They were originally produced to be quality well made knives at an affordable price. When I was looking for a good Sheffield Made Barlow for not a lot of money, I stumbled across this barlow knife from A. Write and Son. Over all its is a well built traditional pocket knife. It has a rustic look and a really strong back spring. The blade is made of C70 carbon steel and the knife features rosewood covers, nickel silver bolsters, brass liners and brass pins. This knife cost 28 GBP and for the price, there is not a lot to complain about here. Yes it isn't finished like a piece of jewelry but as far as a user knife, it is more than satisfactory.
