Developmental Trauma Impact and Legacy

This video explains how developmental trauma can occur from the point of conception forward. It explains how developmental trauma is held in implicit memory, which cannot be processed through explicit memory. Explicit memory involves remembering the details to talk about the trauma. Since most counselors only use traditional talk therapy requiring detailed memories and being able to talk about the trauma, most developmental trauma survivors do not find traditional counseling to be all that helpful in resolving their symptoms. This video describes in detail what is happening to the individual who is experiencing developmental trauma, as well as what is required in counseling to help the individual find meaningful relief from their symptoms.
