How to Choose Papers for Your Scrapbook Layout | Mixing Unexpected Colors

Have you ever looked at a patterned paper and thought… that’s beautiful, but how would I actually use it? In today’s scrapbook layout, I’m sharing how I choose papers for my pages and why I decided to use pink on an outdoor layout! When we think of outdoor scrapbook themes, we often reach for greens, browns, and neutrals. But this time, I was inspired by the pink and yellow tones in the Nature’s Walk DSP, as well as the colours in our photos from Bridal Veil Falls at Panther Creek. Instead of playing it safe, I leaned into those softer tones and I love how it turned out. In this video, I’ll walk you through: • How I choose patterned papers • Mixing stash papers with newer collections • Letting your photos guide your colour palette • Using unexpected colour combinations with confidence • Designing an outdoor layout that feels fresh and personal Whether you’re new to scrapbooking or have been crafting for years, I hope this encourages you to think outside the box and use what you already have in a new way.
