This is the first in 2 videos taking a walk around the mountains and fells that make up The Newlands Watershed. I start with a family favourite: Cat Bells. We take a look at what makes it so popular and busy even in early January. From there, we make our way over to Maiden Moor on the way to High Spy, which in my view is a very underrated summit. Heading down to Dale Head tarn we cross a small stream. From this point it is possible to head back down the valley but I decided to push my luck and go on to Dale Head and Hindscarth. Both have excellent and commanding views over the surrounding valleys. In the second video I will pick up where I left off in Hindscarth and hike the remaining mountains of Robinson, Knott Rigg, Ard Crags, Scar Crags and Causey Way taking in Moss Force Waterfalls on the way.
