Some of these dubbers were, at their very young age (most of them were not even 18 at the time of the dubbing), already excellent voice actors and singers. Some were not. For this reason, a comment you’re often going to read in this ranking is “inexperienced”, which in many cases here was synonym of “young”. Since Auliʻi Cravalho was 14 when she was selected for the role, Disney asked for international dubbings to bring as young voice actors. Too bad that Auliʻi was instructed and followed by vocal coaches for the whole time the production of Moana went on. International dubbers had to be already as good at the very same age. Personally, I think this was a bad decision Disney made, as it resulted in many dubbers who were excellent singers, but not-so-excellent voice actors and vice versa. This is the fil rouge I found while digging my way through Moana’s dubbers. I decided to leave out again all Persian dubbings because they still have their way to go, and I’m positive we’ll get to hear some good improvements in the future. Until then, I’d rather wait for that time, than including them now only to place them low. On the other hand, I decided to leave out the Albanian dubbing too because I refuse to place it last just to say “guys, 20 years are too many to still justify the mess you make every time you have to mix an audio”.
