Exploring the Florida Panhandle… We Didn’t Expect This

Scott & Lila The start of our second week on the road took us through the last stretch of Florida, with a mix of quiet campgrounds, unexpected stops, and some incredible wildlife along the way. We stayed at Tillis Hill Equestrian Campground, then made our way to Homosassa Springs, where we saw manatees, birds, and other wildlife up close in a beautiful, natural setting. Along the way, we also stopped at Peace Cave and Dames Cave—two simple but interesting spots we hadn’t planned on but were glad we checked out. From there, we headed to Indian Pass Campground right by the water, then continued on to Panama City Beach and finally Pensacola, where we spent part of the day walking along America’s First Settlement Trail and ended it with a really nice meal at 86 Forks. That wraps up our time in Florida. Next, we’re heading out of state as we continue the journey. If you’d like to follow along, we’d love to have you with us.
