I Drifted in the Indian Ocean at Midnight: Here’s What Followed Me

I scuba dived in the open ocean at midnight, testing my thalassophobia, surrounded by trillions of deep sea creatures that rise up from the ocean floor at night to feed in the blackwater. This is the biggest migration on Earth — the diel vertical migration. I found jellyfish, mantis shrimps, and all sorts of other strange gelatinous sea creatures, and witnessed flying squids and larval moray eels hunting in the darkness. _____________________ I’m exploring the remotest and deepest parts of the ocean and showing you all the best bits.
