DDR delight: Fortschritt E514 | Classic combine harvester | Wheat harvest 2022

The Fortschritt E514 is a rare machine in the Netherlands. It was imported by Cebeco and this E514 was sold new to a contractor in this country and is still working on an arable farm in the North of the country. It was build in 1986. The E514 was launched by the state-owned company VEB Kombinat Fortschritt in 1982 to replace the highly successful E512. A total of 12.028 examples were build between 1982 and 1989. The E514 had a completely redesigned cab with air cooling and heating, hydraulic controls, an overhauled grain tank, new controls and more features. The threshing system remained the same as before. It has 4 straw walkers and a single threshing drum. It was build in the Fortschritt plant in Singwitz. The machine is powered by a 115 PS VEB IFA Nordhausen 4 cylinder diesel engine which drives the 160x60cm drum with 8 beaters. It has a 3.600L grain tank and header widths of 3.6, 4.2, 4.8 and 5.4m were available. This machine has the 4.2m example. The E514 was later replaced by the all new E524. More?
