Hello Everyone! In this video of Heat Transfer Convection, we will learn about some important dimensionless numbers, which are Nusselt Number (Nu) and Prandtl Number (Pr). Nusselt number is one of the most important dimensionless number and it is used in both types of convection whether it is Forced convection or Natural Convection. Through Nusselt number we can comment on the contribution of heat transfer in the fluid e.g., Conduction or Convection inside the fluid layer. Next Number is Prandtl Number, which is the most used number in convection heat transfer process. By Prandtl number value, we can judge which layer is more in the system e.g., Thermal boundary layer or velocity boundary layer. For solving the complex problems in convection, we used Prandtl number in Empirical heat transfer equations. By end of the video, You will understand the concept of Dimensionless Numbers used in heat transfer.
