Alta Laguna Park This is a beautiful place with an absolutely gorgeous lookout spot/nature area "the top of the world" where you can see across the canyons to the ocean The park is on top of the hill and has great amenities for the kids and adults. There is a playground, basketball court, and tennis courts. The drive up there and down is scenic. There are a lot of trails you can hike down with very pretty views. This place, also called Top of the World because that's exactly how you will feel is well worth the short drive from the beach. This place is not to be missed if you are visiting Laguna Beach. Top of the world Trail Trails start on left side of parking lot, well marked and maintained. They get good use. Bikers, runners/joggers, hikers, walkers. Take a short hike to the Top of the World where you get unobstructed and panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean and Orange County and nearby mountains. The trails leading from Alta Laguna Park offer amazing views for hikers and bikers. Trails extend into Laguna Canyon and also connect with Aliso and Wood Canyons. Trails range from dirt fire roads to very difficult single track. Alta Laguna is the highest elevation of the trail system and the ride back can wear you out. Views are worth it. Not crowded, friendly people and good parking. The City and people of Laguna Beach created a "Greenbelt" around their town. There is no other location to see their efforts than from this park. In one direction there is Saddleback Mountain and orange county, in another the canyon, and in another the beautiful Pacific Ocean. What a spectacular view and a wonderful hiking or biking environment. There really is not another location in Orange County where all this comes together. Enjoy :)
