ONE IN A MILLION

ONE IN A MILLION DREAMS (For My Wife) is a deeply personal love song inspired by the remarkable journey that my wife and I have shared for over forty years. My wife is from Bougainville, and I first met her while I was working there. Not long after we met, the Bougainville Crisis began. As tensions grew and roads were blocked, she was unable to return to her home in South Bougainville. Faced with uncertainty and difficult circumstances, we made the decision to leave the island together and begin a new chapter of our lives side by side. What started as a young love during a time of crisis became a lifetime of commitment, faith, and devotion. Through every challenge and every blessing, we remained together, building a family and creating a life filled with love, hope, and purpose. For forty years, my wife has been my greatest companion, my source of strength, and my closest friend. One in a Million Dreams is my tribute to her—a celebration of a love that endured through changing seasons and difficult times, and a thanksgiving to God for His guidance and blessings throughout our journey. This song honors not only the woman I love but also the beautiful life and family we have been blessed to share together. I also dedicate this song to the staff of the Papua New Guinea Banking Corporation who served in Bougainville during those historic and challenging years, particularly those from the Arawa, Panguna, Kieta, Buin, Buka, and Tinputz branches. I remember with gratitude those who have since passed on and those who are still with us today. This dedication also extends to the many families and loved ones who endured separation, uncertainty, and hardship during the Bougainville Crisis. Most importantly, I honor the resilient people of Bougainville and all those who have married into Bougainville families and communities. May God continue to bless each one of you, grant healing where there has been pain, strengthen the bonds of family and friendship, and bless Bougainville with lasting peace, freedom, unity, and prosperity for generations to come.
