Dame June Whitfield's resting place
All Hallows Church, Tillington is nestled within this charming village in the South Downs. Loads of history linked to the area, the Scots Crown is a unique feature. Largely rebuilt in the early C19th by Lord Egremont, the church was painted by Turner and Constable. In the nearby cemetery is the grave of Dame June Whitfield, a true British icon who was much loved. With thanks to Jeremy Godwin and George Warren whose pamphlets provided historical information.
